WoW Insider interviews Ed Fries on avatar figurines

Although nothing will ever top our surprise Spore figurine (in our hearts, at least), former VP of games publishing at Microsoft Ed Fries (one of the original Xbox guys, remember?) is hoping to provide a similar service for World of Warcraft players by making a 3D replica of their avatars.

The sad thing ( from a former WOW addict's perspective ) is, I still would love to have one of these figurines. Maybe it means my addiction is not over yet, or it's part of my grieving process, or blizzard messed up my mind for ever. Now I'm dreaming of my fierce Troll shaman sculpted for eternity, right here on my desk... damn!
