In Synaesthete your supposed to create harmony between the player actions and the music. The whole game feels like an “old school” platform game with some wicked innovative elements. Your inside some sort of interactive video clip, with heavy beats and psychedelic colors. Synaesthete is nominated for 2008 Independent Games Festival ( IGF ). The game can be downloaded ( for free ) form the publishers website.
Of course I downloaded the game ( it’s free and I’m dutch after all ) and played it for a few hours. And it’s actually quite good. Be sure to turn up your speakers volume. And get ready for some heavy music, while you find your way trough the maze of polygons. Most Geezers will have flashbacks when they play this game, remember those arcade halls? Draining your pocket money? This feels just the same, good thing it’s free this time! I only wished they implemented a feature to use your own music, the Techno stuff is a little to harsh for me in the long run.
