If your a big fan of Nightmare on Elm street, the one with mister handsome Freddy Krueger himself. And you also like Zombie Holocaust, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre or any other blood flooded horror movie from the B category. You’ll probably love Clive Barker’s new title Jericho.
In Jericho you have to deal with evil from the past, centered within a mysterious city in the desert. A special forces squad has to eliminate the evil creatures that suddenly reappeared in this city. They need to act quickly before they destroy mankind. Thats basically the whole background story of the game, maybe not very original or deep. But a perfect excuse to slay the creatures, usually zombies with their guts hanging out, leaving trails of blood all over your computers screen.
The game looks very realistic, and you have the feeling you are really in there. I played the demo late at night, and I sometimes had to tone the sound down, to get a grasp of the relative safety of reality again. The game gets under your skin, it really does.
Jericho received an mature / adult age rating, for extreme violence, and it’s scheduled release is set for late October. German rating board USK refused to give this title any rating at all for the PS3 and the Xbox 360, meaning it will not be released in Germany on those platforms. A demo is available from the Gamershell.com website.
