Sex in computer games?

In most media sex is a relative normal part of the diversity, either embedded ( a part of the story or plot ) or on it’s own in the many different adult entertainment niche’s. We all consider this to be a normal part of our culture, although some conservatives or religious groups think otherwise. When you take a look at computer games, and it’s enormous amount of different genres, there seems to be a large gap. There are hardly any games out there that incorporate sex as a part of their entertainment value. And if a game displays even the smallest amount of nudity it’s immediately world news.

But imagine a game, preferable online to bring in the social aspect, where you explore more then just a pretty landscape. Where you engage in more then just an other hack & slash event? Would be neat right? It would bring “cybersex” to the masses. But unfortunately this isn’t going to happen any time soon. Most “cybersex” experiments are pushed out of the mainstream press, are “so niche” most people can hardly find them. And none of the larger publishers wants to upset their clientèle. So were stuck with a few indie’s ( independent game developers ) trying to lift the “sex in games” ban. These small game studio’s sometimes create nifty sex games, but they lack the funds & manpower to bring you an overwhelming gaming experience that includes sexual activities.

There are a few signs things are improving, a big upcoming title “Age of Conan” claims it will have “functional nudity” ( free translated = a few busty babes ). And there are “some porn publishers” seeking cooperation with indie game companies, to create “porn games” ( I’m not allowed yet to mention names here ). If you don’t want to wait for a world thats ready for “sex in games” there are two online game titles worth checking out.

Second life
Not a pure sex game, more a life simulation that doesn’t exclude sex. And if it’s not excluded, people will create & find it. The graphics are terrible by today’s standards. But it’s still a whole lot better then having a text based “cybersex” session.
Red light Center
An online red light district, where you can visit a hooker, or night club. It also offers other forms of adult entertainment like gambling and watching porn. The graphics are better then in Second life, but don’t expect them to be top notch. The sex animations are nice though.
